Pinhole Leak — Trace & Repair Under Floorboards — Ryde

Job location: Ryde

A customer reported damp but couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. The cause turned out to be a pinhole in an old copper pipe buried under the floorboards — the kind of leak that causes a lot of damage before it's ever noticed. Steve lifted the boards, traced the run, found the corroded section, and cut it out. The pipe had turned green and brittle with age. A new push-fit elbow and section of pipe replaced it, boards back down, 90 minutes start to finish.

The problem

A pinhole leak in corroded copper pipework was hidden beneath the floorboards.

Work carried out

  • Accessed the floor void and traced the affected pipe.
  • Cut back to sound copper and fitted a new push-fit elbow.

The recorded outcome

The recorded repair resolved the leak in 90 minutes, with the floorboards put back down.
